Easton LEGO Store
Aug/090
Well, as Amy and I were out last night I wanted to stop by the new LEGO store that just opened at Easton in Columbus. When I finally found the shop (located where the old Discovery Store used to be) I was suprised by the small size of it.
I guess I was expecting a fairly big store. They advertised it as having a “pick a brick” wall that had tons of individual pieces to choose from ala carte. But the wall was only 12-14 feet long and I could tell that not every piece in LEGO inventory was there on display. Found that to be a bit disappointing.
Because of the store’s smaller size and the displays around the store, it made it a bit hard to navigate. It was cool to see the different pre-built displays in glass boxes showing off the amazing LEGO work. Also, they had a GIANT Yoda made with LEGOS and a life-size Captain Rex statue.
The one thing I didn’t find was the advertised “play area”. I swear the different newspapers and online sites who wrote about the opening said that the store was going to feature an area that let you build with LEGOS. All I saw was a “build your own mini-fig” station that allowed you to build your own custom LEGO people.
Was cool to see the displays…but was not really impressed with the store at all.
