Tornadic Threats
Aug/065
In response to Travis’ post about the weather last night…I decided to give a recap on last nights “tornadic threats”.
6:30PM, turned on the TV to watch a few shows. We were interrupted from our viewing due to severe storms with possible tornadoes down south. Now…any of you who are familiar with Ohio know that tornadoes don’t EVER hit central Ohio. Ok…so maybe some do…but it’s very rare.
After watching the radar map…I realized that the severe weather that prompted them to interrupt my show to tell me about was 2 counties below us. God…I wish they had a way of only interrupting those effected by the weather.
Anyways…around 7:00PM another cell was detected around southern Franklin county (the county we were in). Still…the storms are heading due East and we are directly North. Since none of the storms were anywhere near us…I decided to ignore the whole situation and watch a movie.
Yeah…so…it’s hard to watch a movie when it sounds like a bomb raid outside. The sirens were going non-stop. Now, I’m not one of those redneck storm chasers (no offense guys…you are honestly some cool dudes) but I really wasn’t afraid of something that is about 30 miles from my house. I did check outside about once or twice, but only saw clouds…normal old storm clouds.
Needless to say, the sirens were a bit much. But I guess they are controlled throughout the entire county…so if part of Franklin county is “under attacK” they set them all off.
Thanks for ruining my evening Franklin county sirens.
